But this isn’t just about a place to park your bike. The Derbion Cycle Hub represents something far bigger.

When we first opened the hub, it marked our first step outside London. Many questioned whether it would work:

• “Why Derby?”

• “Do people cycle outside of London?”

• “Will anyone actually use this service?”

The Derbion Cycle Hub has proven those doubts wrong. While it took time for the facility to build momentum (as it does everywhere, even in London), we got there.

Before its temporary closure in July 2024, the hub was operating at over 100% capacity, with more than 24,000 bike journeys recorded via Spokesafe_OS.

Not bad, right?
